Summary

Part A

The Buggy Bomb blows away part of the city as Zoro picks up the cage Luffy is in. He asks Luffy who Nami is, and he replies that she is their Navigator. Zoro, with is injury, struggles to carry Luffy and the cage way.

From within the smoke, a beast tamer named Mohji talks with Buggy, who has apparently survived without a scratch.

Once away from everyone, Zoro drops Luffy and collapses. A strange dog stares at them angrily, but doesn’t move. Luffy pokes it, and it bites Luffy’s face. Zoro stares in awe and passes out from exhaustion. Nami comes upon them again and gives Luffy the key, but the dog takes it and swallows it. A man comes up to them and tells ShuShu, the dog to stop. He introduces himself as the mayor of the town. He takes Zoro inside and returns wearing armor made of barrels, telling Luffy that Zoro will be fine if he wears bandages.

The town mayor says that ShuShu’s owner had died several months before of a mysterious illness, but ShuShu stil says outside the store his owner owned and protects it no matter what, despite that he knows his owner is dead. The group hears a roar and the mayor says that the beast tamer Mohji is approaching. Everyone leaves except Luffy who is stuck in the cage. The beast tamer’s lion, Ritchie attacks Luffy and breaks the cage open, freeing Luffy. Mohji approaches the store with Ritchie.

Luffy is in the rambles of a building, and runs off to get Zoro. Mohji and Ritchie begin to attack the store and ShuShu, who desperately tries to stop them. ShuShu flashes back to memories of his owner, and continues his defense. He is then beaten bloody by Ritchie.

Part B

The store is on fire, and ShuShu can do nothing but watch it burn. Luffy stands behind him and watches him howl and cry. He stares at Shu Shu.

Mohji rides Ritchie away and Luffy confronts him.Luffy grabs Ritchie and uses Gomu Gomu no Screw to send Ritchie into a spinning body-slam. Luffy gets revenge for ShuShu and takes out Mohji with one hit. Nami confronts Luffy and says that he is a pirate just like Buggy and his crew. She says she’ll kill him and Luffy tells her that she doesn’t have the power to. Luffy returns ShuShu’s dog food that Ritchie has taken, and sits next to ShuShu. ShuShu walks away with the dog food and barks once at Luffy. Luffy replies to the dog and tells him to do his best.

Mohji returns to Buggy and surprises him by telling him that it was Luffy who had beaten him, not Zoro.

Nami apologizes to Luffy, but he says it didn’t bother him because she had her reasons to do what she did to him. The mayor, angry, says that he feels like he should do something since he’s the mayor. At that moment, Buggy fired another Buggy Bomb, wiping out the house that Zoro was in, but Zoro walks out perfectly fine. The mayor says that he will protect the town and tries to go, but Nami holds him back. Luffy supports the old man, and tells Nami to let him go. Zoro and Luffy prepare to fight, and Luffy asks Nami to come with them. She agrees because she wishes to map the Grand Line, and that is where Luffy and Zoro are going.

The town Mayor confronts Buggy, and Buggy separates his arm to strangle the mayor. Luffy takes the arm off the Mayor, and tells Buggy that he came to kick his ass.
