Kagome Higurashi is a high-school student. On her 15th birthday, she was dragged into the bone-eater's well by Mistress Centipede, and appeared in the feudal era. There, she learns that she is the reincarnation of Kikyo, a powerful priestess, and has to protect the Shikon no Tama, or the Jewel of Four Souls.
