Sophie

Sohpie Hatter is the protagonist of Hayao Miazaki's anime film, Howl's Moving Castle. She is an eighteen-year old girl who lives an unsatisfying life working in her family's hat shop. She has brown hair (later silver) and hazel eyes. Sophie is a very timid character, and lacks the courage to leave the hat shop and seek her fortune. By chance, she encounters the notorious wizard Howl, who rescues her from the harassment of two soldiers. After her meeting with Howl, she is cursed by the Witch of the Waste, and is forced to leave her home and embark on an adventure to try and break her curse.
